Here is a calypso version of Burt Bacharach 's "Always Something (There To Remind Me) by Wendell Stuart & The Downbeaters.
I've always loved this version. I picked up this record when I was in university in Hamilton, Ontario in a dimly lit record store. I've never been able to find any information on Mr. Stuart or his Downbeaters though the sleeve is autographed by Wendell himself. There's also an AMAZING version of "Hey Jude" on side B of the album.
ReplyDeleteI meet Wendell several times in Freeport Bahamas. He would play out on Paradise Island. I fell in love with his music. Unfortunately he passed away some time ago.
